Trick Or Treat: Smell My CBV!

It's that time of year again!

   Yes, indeed it is time for my annual Halloween CBV scent review! Since I have already reviewed most of the official Halloween esque scents (you can find them here.) these will be a bit more varied, but there are sure to be some scream worthy scents in the mix. So break out the bubbling cauldron's of green and orange punch, grab a glass, put on some spooky sounds, turn off the lights, and prepare yourselves because here we go...

As always let's start with the bakery scents... 

Pumpkin Cupcake:  
Cold throw: I waited a long time to finally melt this bad boy and the more it cured the more I liked it. I let it cure for about 3 months and it smells exactly like a real pumpkin cupcake. This one does have more cupcake in it than I was expecting, which is a pleasant surprise. So far this one is 3/4 yummy cupcake and 1/4 creamy pumpkin. The pumpkin in this is a light sweet pumpkin that doesn't have any spice in it at all. Shocking I know! But no tricks here, you won't find any cinnamon or spice in this one. I'm actually really grateful for that. I love my pumpkin spiced scents, but it is nice to just have a mild sweet pumpkin scent for a change.

Warm throw: This is one delicious fall bakery scent! This one had me wanting to put on my apron and officially celebrate the baking season by whipping up some *cough* poisoned *cough* pumpkin cupcakes of my own. It still remained more cupcake than pumpkin, but I didn't have a problem with that personally. The only complaint I have with this scent is that it didn't seem to last that long. It had about a medium scent throw, but was pretty much dissipated within 3 hours. But I only used 1/4 a shot and it was mouthwateringly good while it lasted. I would recommend this one to those who want a pumpkin scent but don't want any spice at all. It is also good for all of those who are looking to branch out and try a pumpkin scent but aren't sure where to start.

Fluffy Pink Candy: 
Cold Throw: You know what is the best part about Halloween? FREE CANDY! In that spirit here is a new candy scent. I can instantly pick out the Pink Sugar in this, but it is really sweetened up by the Cotton Candy and Marshmallow Fluff. I don't really get the marshmallow in this, but the fragrance does have a creamy "fluffiness" feel to it. The spun sugar in the Cotton Candy really ties the other two scents together nicely. It is a fun and sweet fragrance just like it's name suggests.

Warm Throw: The Marshmallow Fluff really comes out more once warmed up, you can actually smell the creamy sticky goodness. Other than that it still smells the same for the most part. This fragrance is really light, but sugary sweet, not so sweet that it will give you a toothache (or headache for that matter). The scent throw with this one was just average, but that's to be expected when you have a concoction of all light sugary sweet fragrances. This one is sure to have you dipping into the candy bowl early.

Peanut Butter Popcorn Ball: 
Cold Throw: Now most kids hate getting popcorn balls in their candy bags, but what about getting popcorn balls in your warmers? With this one I get the popcorn but for the most part but it is toned down and sweetened up quite a bit. I also get the Peanut Butter Cookies mixed with a blend of other sweet scents that without knowing what is in this scent you wouldn't be able to guess on your own. Since I know what is in it I can get a pinch of Granny's Pie Crust, but not so much the Creme' Brulee. Overall it smells like popcorn, peanut butter, and a touch of GPC.

Warm Throw: Granny's Pie Crust came out so much more once it was melted. It mixed well with the Peanut Butter Cookies and the popcorn. However I still didn't smell much of the Creme' Brulee. I think it was more of an anchoring scent that was added to make the whole fragrance much more cohesive. The popcorn wasn't too strong, but it was the more dominant smell of them all. The scent throw is decently strong with this one. I wasn't sure what to make of this scent at first, I didn't really care for it on cold, but once it melted I started to "warm" up to it. (excuse the pitifully bad pun) But now I like it and think it is great for the fall season.  I will caution you though that if you were looking for a "salty" scent don't be deceived by the popcorn it is pretty much rendered semi-sweet by the other scents so there really isn't any salt in this.

Pumpkin Frappuccino:
Cold Throw: I've heard this described as smelling like a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and I have to agree. I get the warm rich coffee and the creamy smooth pumpkin. I also get just a little hint of some baking cinnamon, but it is very minimal. This smells just like a cozy festive flavored coffee drink.

Warm Throw: This one comes to life a bit more once warmed up. The scent doesn't change just the strength of it does. This one is equal parts warm coffee and mild pumpkin. It is very well balanced and if you are worried about the cinnamon getting out of hand, don't. I didn't even notice it once it was all melted. This little baby has a strong scent throw sure to have you SCREAMING for more.

All of these are perfect companions for your Halloween bash.

Here are some spooktacular fall fragrances... 

Autumn Leaves:
Cold Throw: If a fall day could be captured in a cup this would be it. This smells like crisp and crunchy leaves with fresh autumn air. It just invokes the feeling of a cool fall afternoon walk with orange and yellow leaves falling everywhere. And it smells like real leaves, not fake ones in craft stores, but REAL actual leaves. It is like jumping into a giant leaf pile.

Warm Throw: It still smells as authentic as it did on cold. This is a perfect fall leaf fragrance! It has a medium to medium strong throw and it lasted a decent amount of time. I really love this scent. I like that there isn't any of your typical spice, apple, or pumpkin scents that are usually associated with this season. Not that I don't love those seasons too, it is just nice to have a seasonal scent that is different once in awhile.

Why I Autumn:
Cold Throw: This is another great fall fragrance. I get leaves, some cinnamon (not a too strong cinnamon), ginger, a touch of lemon, and another scent that I can't really identify. I checked the site description but it doesn't smell like any of those scents listed. As one user on the site pointed out it does smell like a fall potpourri  Really nice and not too spicy.

Warm Throw: Not much change in the fragrance from cold to hot. Don't let the cinnamon and ginger scare you off it isn't that red hot overpowering it just gives the scent a nice baking twist. It does still smell like a pretty fall fragranced potpourri. The scent throw was just average, but it is still a really lovely fall fragrance. Sure to be a hit with all those who love all things autumn scented!

These scents are sure to get you into the fall "spirit"

And now onto the perfume category...

Mad About You (Type):
Cold Throw: Oh boy this pretty scent is sure to drive you mad! I get a mixture of very soft and pretty florals with a touch of strawberries. I don't know well enough what most of the individual flowers in this smell like so I can't tell you if it is more cassis or peony. All I can tell you is that it is a gorgeous soft feminine floral that isn't likely to cause headaches unless you are very sensitive. The florals are perfume like, but not pungent in the least. And if you are a little leery about the patchouli or musk in the description don't be because I don't get any patchouli at all and the musk isn't that thick deep kind. Really I mainly get the flowers, the strawberries, and a touch of amber wood to round it all out.

Warm Throw: I think this is one that would be absolutely fantastic in Bath & Body! I can see why they named it Mad About You because once you smell this you will fall in love. It smells pretty much the same as it did on cold throw only much more lovelier. The scent throw on this one is strong, but not overpoweringly so. I think this is a gentle floral that won't irritate most people. I don't generally care for most florals, but I think this will become a staple. I know my mother has gone off and used most of it lol.

Dark Kiss:
Cold Throw: This one has had about 3 months to cure, so I think it is safe to say it is ready. I have never smelt what this is duping, but everyone else says it is almost spot on. What I get is a "mature" (not old lady) women's perfume. It has that feminine rich musk, with some creamy vanilla, and maybe just a touch of berries. I really don't get any fruity scent in this though. It is more just a deeper women's perfume scent. I don't know what to make of this one. I hated it at first, but the more I sniff the better it starts to smell to me. I guess I will just have to melt it to find out.

Warm Throw: I'm surprised by how much I ended up liking this one. I didn't care for it for the first few months it cured and was iffy on it up until I melted it. It is a very pretty women's perfume that is mostly a light musk with some rich vanilla. It doesn't sound that appealing I know by words alone, but it is actually really nice. There really isn't any berry or fruit smell though. I think this is a perfume scent more for women above 25, but that's just my humble opinion. I typically don't care for my house to smell like perfume or cologne related scents, but with this one I don't mind. I forgot to jot down the scent throw, so I honestly can't be too accurate, but I think it had a medium strong throw.

These scents will be sure to drive you fabulously mad!

And one lone fruit fragrance... 

Passionate Kisses Type: 
Cold Throw: Ok so the site description for this one has a TON of fragrances listed, but really I only get 2. This one has even cured for about 3 months as well and I just get a strong cherry and red hot cinnamon in the base. It is kind of a secretly spicy cherry scent. It reminds me a little bit of Big Red Gum with like sweet maraschino cherries. The cherry doesn't smell like the dreaded cough syrup kind to me so that's good.  I don't know with this one, I want to wait and see of it changes before making a final verdict.

Warm Throw: Nope, this one continued to just be strong maraschino cherries and red hot cinnamon. The cinnamon wasn't overpowering, but it was very noticeably there. I was hoping the other fragrances listed would come out of hiding but no such long. I'm left doubting their existence. *twilight zone music plays* I don't actually mind this scent, it just wasn't anything I was expecting it to be. I warn you all now that this scent is just sweet cherries with an undercurrent of spicy cinnamon. The scent throw was pretty strong too. I'm left on the fence with this one because I like cherry and cinnamon fragrances, but I was left underwhelmed because the web description had me expecting there would be more to it. It can be a treat for those cherry and cinnamon lovers, but a real trick for those who don't.

Warning: this scent may be scary for some.

      That's all for this year's monstrously sweet cbv review. I hope I didn't scare you away from any good fragrances to try. I also hope you all have a wicked fun and safe Halloween. I'm not exactly sure what my plans are right now I'm either helping my church with their "trunk or treating", going to a friend's house to pass out candy to all the little monsters, or sitting on my butt at home watching scary movies with popcorn, hot chocolate, and a cbv scent or two. Total Eclipse Of The Tarts

I'm back again with another review.

      Hello again candle friends. It has been a little over a month since my last review I believe, so I am back with a slightly bigger list of scents that I have tried. All of these scents have had at least two weeks minimum to cure, though most of them have had at least a month or so to cure. I had a bit more of the newer scents added to the CBV site in my possession this time around so some are new goodies and some are old.  This review is mainly on the summertime scents that I have been going through before fall, but there are some year round fragrances to check out. So without further ado let's get down to it shall we?

As always I like to start with the bakery category...

Cozy Kitchen: 
Cold Throw: Those familiar with my scent tastes know that I love apple scents and so far this one is no exception. This is a creamy sweet crisp apple fragrance. It is a combination of Creme Brulee' and Caramel Apple and I do get both of those scents when I smell this. The two fragrances are equally balanced enough. You get the fresh apple with a touch of thick caramel from the Caramel Apple half and then you get the smooth creamy vanilla sweetness from the Creme Brulee.

Warm Throw:  The caramel comes out a bit more once warmed up. It does however still remain a smooth creamy caramel apple scent. The apple portion does kind of lose it's crispness. You still get the apple fragrance, but the crisp bite is toned down a lot. The two scents remain almost equally balanced though. The scent throw for this one was in the average range. I liked this one, but just for me personally I think I prefer Caramel Apple over this one, just because I like that fresh crispness to my apple scents. However don't let me put you off of this scent because it is really good and perfect for the upcoming fall season.

This scent makes me very happy it is fall.

The Hunger Games:  
Cold Throw: Another mixed scent of two already existing fragrances, this one is Enchanted Apple and Candied Apple. I mainly get the light airy clean Macintosh apple from Enchanted Apple, but the Candied Apple does sweeten it up a bit and it adds some depth to the scent in my opinion. This a just a really fresh crisp apple scent and it isn't overly sweetened which I think is nice. I think of this one in the same category as Mango Tango because it is a fruity clean fresh air kind of fragrance that is great to melt all year round.

Warm Throw: As soon as my friend walked in while I was melting this he said, "What is that tasty fruity scent?" lol he is used to my house being well fragranced, but he really liked this one. So it was an instant hit in my home. It still smelt like how it did on cold throw only the coolness from the Candied Apple came out more so it was a whole lot better! I really love this one it is just a cool, crisp, airy apple fragrance. The scent throw on this baby was decently strong. Not overwhelming, but it manage to fill up my open spaced home. Three cheers for this awesome new fragrance!

Watermelon Taffy
Cold Throw: Oh goodness, I think I have a new all time favorite watermelon scent. This is everything I was hoping Strawberry Taffy would be but sadly wasn't. This smells like real home made salt water watermelon taffy. It is so authentic smelling, like you just bought it at the state fair. It smells just like soft gooey taffy. The watermelon is sweet and light and just a perfect dupe of the actual candy. I can't wait to melt this one.

Warm Throw: Sweet delicious watermelon salt water taffy! This one is so good! It smells just like it's namesake and the scent throw force in this one is strong! It filled my entire house which is really hard to find now since I have very wide open rooms which is a lot of space to cover. This is definitely in my top favorite fruity scents. I still really love Cranberry Watermelon Lemon Lime Fizz, but it is tied with this one for first in the watermelon category.

Satsuma Punch:
Cold Throw: I love Satsuma so much and I like Champagne Pomegranate and the mixture of these two scents I like so far. I didn't know what to expect but the light citrus from Satsuma is kind of anchored down by the pomegranate making it a kind of heavier scent than I had imagined, but it is still good. You get that little bit of carbonation from the Champagne Pomegranate that gives it that "champagne" feel. I can kind of see this as smelling like an "adult" fruit punch at like a nice social gathering.

Warm Throw: My mother and I liked this one so much we just ordered another one lol. This smells like a fruit punch spiked with champagne and it is really good. I like it a whole lot more once warmed. This one is also a really strong thrower and it is sweet without being too sweet and overall has just a nice balance of fruitiness and champagne. If you don't like that "champagne" smell you probably won't care for it because it is more Champagne Pomegranate than Satsuma. In fact Satsuma just kind of adds a nice touch to this one and just adds some more fruit to the mix. Two thumbs up for this one.

I salute these strong amazing fragrances!

Watermelon & Lime:
Cold Throw: This one isn't as sweet as Watermelon Taffy, but it's still really really good. Light sweet watermelon with the tiniest pinch of lime. It isn't tart at all so don't worry about it not being sweet enough. This one is really light and refreshing so you don't have to worry about it being too sweet either. The watermelon is clearly the dominant fragrance while the lime is just a hint in the undercurrents.

Warm  Throw: This one was nice. The lime came out more once it was melted, but it was a sweet lime so overall it remained a light sweet fruity watermelon scent. I still like this one a lot but it doesn't come close to Watermelon Taffy in my books. However it might be different in yours and it is still a great watermelon scent to have. The scent throw on this one was about average. I would have liked it to last a bit longer, but as I mentioned before I have an open spaced home so scent throws for me are a bit harder to achieve now. This one lasted about 2-3 hours at my place.

Jaba Juice:
Cold Throw: I instantly get kids fruit snacks when I smell this one; like you just opened a package of fruit snacks and stuck your nose in and inhaled. I almost didn't recognize that this is a mixture of Volcano (see scent description for this one below) and Pink Sangria, but when I thought about it and sniffed some more I can tell apart the citrus and a bit of the airy green notes from Volcano and they get a juicy fruity boost from Pink Sangria. Which explains why I get fruit snacks because it is a mixture of berries, citrus, and a touch of apple.

Warm  Throw: These two scents mix really well together to make one new fragrance, but at the same time it is easy to discern the separate halves of the two. The scents themselves are equally balanced and make one sweet mixed fruity scent. It still smelt like fruit snacks to me though lol. But I actually quite like it that way. This is just a fun mixed fruity sweet scent and the throw on this one was in the medium range.  

Volcano: 
Cold Throw: This one smells like mild oranges with a base note of light leafy greenery and just a touch of lemon. It is kind of citrusy, but it isn't a sweet juicy kind of citrus. The "green" scent in this is not too earthy or anything but kind of like a spa like light green type plant. It is very mild, but a very "amazon" smelling fragrance.

Warm  Throw: This one is still citrusy, but I wouldn't call it like a strong orange kind of citrus but like a light perfume kind. It also has some fruity scents sort of blended in, but nothing that is discernible. The green notes actually got a little softer in my opinion since it wasn't as prevalent once it warmed. The scent throw on this one was average for me. I have citrus scents that I like better than this one, but I still found it nice and my mother really liked it. I know a lot of people who rave about this scent so be sure to try it because I think it is worth it at least once.

Coconut Banana Blast:
Cold Throw: This smells pretty much how the name implies it should. I get some soft coconut blended almost equally with sweet candied banana. The coconut is a little bit stronger of the two, but it doesn't overwhelm the banana. These two scents actually blend together really well.

Warm  Throw: As I said before these two fragrances make a nice combination. I really enjoy this one, but sadly this one seems to have fallen under the dreaded banana scent curse, where the scent dissolves pretty quickly and doesn't have much lasting power. That being said though the initial scent throw was average and the smell was fruity and fun. The milky coconut mixes really well with the sweet banana. I liked it, but next time I will probably have to put in another 1/4 of a shot once the scent starts to wear off.

Pucker Up: 
Cold Throw: Another one of the more recent scents, this one is a mixture of Pink Grapefruit and Fizzy Pop. I get both of those scents, but I think the Pink Grapefruit is a bit stronger. The grapefruit is a sweet, not tart type of citrus so this scent comes off light, sweet, and slightly girly. I get the Fizzy Pop too, but so far I'm not getting much of the carbonated bubbles that smell that gives your nose that pleasant tingle. I'm hoping that will come out more once it is warmed up.

Warm  Throw: The Fizzy Pop did come out more once it was melted and I got a lot more of the lemon lime fragrance. It mixed nicely with the pink grapefruit. I did get more of the carbonated bubble smell as well which is always a good thing in my books. The scent throw on this one is strong. I think if you like citrusy scents or lemon lime fragrances you will really enjoy this one. I liked it and the lemon made my house feel clean, but most lemon citrus scents give me that feeling. This is just a nice fun, citrus sent that isn't too sweet or too tart.  

Margaritaville:
Cold Throw: This is one of those fragrance combination where you get all the scents in one whiff. You get the milky pina colada and a tiny punch of pineapple from Jimmy Buffett, but there is also the sugared lime from the Margarita Lime. I think the Jimmy Buffett half is stronger so it is like 2/3 JB and 1/3 ML.

Warm  Throw: The pineapple came out more once melted, but it mixed in well with the smooth pina colada. I'd say this one was still more Jimmy Buffett than anything, but there is a definite sweetness from the Margarita Lime. So if you liked JB, then you should like this one too since it is just an amped up and sweetened version of it. The scent throw on this one was medium to medium strong. I think this one is really great for those hot sunny summer days. It certainly invokes that tropical drink in the hot sun kind of atmosphere. This one will have you singing Margaritaville all day.

Aloha:
Cold Throw: This certainly smells strong like it's name suggests. I get some creamy coconut but it isn't too strong like some coconut scents can be, nor is it a sharp coconut. It blends pretty smoothly with the tropical fruit background scents and the flowers. To be honest it is hard for me to pick out the fruits and certain flowers other than a hint of plumeria. The best I can describe it is just a nice tropical fruity floral fragrance, which is kind of a vague description, but that is just what it is lol.

Warm  Throw: This just brings in mind something that I might smell in Hawaii lol. I'm so terrible at describing tropical fragrances because most of them tend to smell the same to me so it is hard for me to discern individual scents. However I do get creamy coconut in this one and I think maybe some passion fruit and a soft hint of plumeria. But as I said it all just blends together into one nice cohesive tropical fragrance. The scent throw on this one was average.

These were all very good as well.

Rio Rumberry Type:
Cold Throw: This one smells like sparkling berries with just the tiniest dash of warm amber in it to round it all out. The berry isn't like strawberry or raspberry or grape, but it smells like goji or acai berries. You know like this berry smell is in the exotic darker category. I'm not 100% sure, but it is definitely not in the typical berry family and it doesn't smell like berry candy or wine. I don't really get any "green foliage" in this scent and if there is coconut in this it is very very subdued. And if the word "musk" creeps you out like it does me, don't worry it isn't that bad musky thick scent you might think of at all, it just means the berry smell has a bit of a deeper base.

Warm  Throw: I think for me this one was actually better smelling in the cup, but that being said it wasn't bad in the warmer either.  It was a bit sweeter before and the amber was a tad more noticeable, but once it warmed up it became more mellow. It is still a good scent, I can see a lot of people really liking it. It is a kind of semi-sweet unique berry scent that is fruity without being too sweet or juicy. The scent throw on this one was on the stronger side of average.  I think this one might be more popular in Bath & Body.

Fairy Garden:
Cold Throw: I get a mixture of scents that make on airy natural spa type of fragrance. I smell bamboo and lemon first followed by some white ginger, but then I get a semi-sweet scent that I think might be from the pink grapefruit and lilies. It is a very fresh scent that is really hard to categorize because it isn't all that fruity, but it isn't earthy, or all that sweet either, but at the same time it is kind of all of those at once. I will say that the name matches the scent; it invokes the right atmosphere. I just can't quite find the words to describe this one accurately all that well. It is just one that has to be smelt to be fully understood.

Warm  Throw: I stick with my initial scent description on this one. It is the same warmed up as it was cold. However I will say the scent throw on this one was kind of a bit under average for me and it didn't seem to last that long in my open living room. I think if you have open spaced rooms like I do then you might want to melt more than 1/4 a shot so you can smell it. Personally I didn't mind this scent, but it isn't a favorite either. I'm kind of neutral, but I can see a TON of people going gaga over this one because it is very unique and light. With this one it comes down to tastes so if you like that light bamboo with kind of semi-sweet fruity smell then you will want to try this one out.

Blackberry Fizz:
Cold Throw: Mmm this one smells so good so far. It is very fruity and you can smell the blackberries, the strawberries, and the pomegranate with just a tiny pinch of mandarin. If you were expecting this one to be tingly and bubbly like Fizzy Pop scents, I hate to disappoint you, but this one doesn't have any of that. It has a slight touch of lemon and lime, but no carbonation. Which is kind of a bummer, but still the scent is really fruity and juicy. I get the strawberry pomegranate combo more so than the other fragrances, but you still can smell the others in the base notes.

Warm  Throw: Sadly I liked this one way more in the cup. This one only had an average scent throw and the fruity notes just didn't shine like they did previously. The main thing I smelt was the strawberries and pomegranates, but the other scents completely disappeared. Which is a shame because I was totally in love with this scent at first. Don't get me wrong, it is still a good scent, but it just lost some of its luster once warmed. I don't know if you will have the same experience, but hopefully that won't be the case for you. Like I said it is still a nice scent regardless.

These weren't what I thought at first but they are still good.

And now for the rest of the mixed category fragrances I had...

Juniper Breeze:
Cold Throw: Many of you are familiar with the B&BW fragrance, but me not so much. I don't have a B&BW near me so I don't get to smell their products that often. But I have heard of this one and that was my motivation in trying it. I'm really glad I got this one because it is really pretty, and of course really hard to describe. It is a nice soft floral, but at the same time it is kind of a clean scent. It's really fresh and the best way I can describe it is that it smells like a semi-sweet soft floral women's hand soap...which is kind of what it was created to be lol.

Warm  Throw:This is a really pretty floral, not too sweet, not too pungent. It's just soft and clean and very very nice. The scent throw was in the average range. I really like this one. Most of you know that I'm not a big fan of florals, but this one is very universal and I can see a lot of people not minding this one. Its just one of those scents that are pretty and not off putting and it can branch out to a lot of people's tastes. There aren't a lot of floral scents that I think most people would like but this is one of them.

Whispering Winds:
Cold Throw: I can immediately pick out the cucumber and the fresh mint in this. The mint isn't too sharp, it actually is toned down a bit for a mint scent that has both peppermint and spearmint. I do get both of those mints, but the combined scent is still a mild mint and it pairs well with the fresh cucumber. I don't really get any fruit notes, but I do get an undercurrent of really soft florals. They are just barely noticeable, but I think they are what is keeping the mint from being overpowering. It is actually a very crisp fresh air kind of scent that I was not expecting with this mixture of fragrances at all. Very nice so far.

Warm  Throw:This one smells pretty identical to what I described on cold throw. It doesn't really have much of a change once warmed, but that's a good thing in my opinion. The mint is cooling, but not sharp and overpowering and the cucumber keeps it's strength to the end so it is just a nice refreshing cool airy scent. The scent throw on this one was medium strong. I really liked this one a lot more than I anticipated. I am a mint lover in general and I didn't know what to think about this one at first, but now I know it is a keeper.

These were sooo good and so surprising!

Lick Me All Over: 
Cold Throw: This one has had about 2 and a half months to cure, maybe over that so I'm pretty sure it is done by now. And I have to be honest and say I don't really care for it so far. Not that the scent is bad by any means it just isn't something my nose cares for, but I can imagine a lot of people loving this one. It smells kind of like musky dry exotic fruit lol. I don't even know how to describe this because the scent feels familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. I don't get any raspberry or citrus with this one and as far as the melon if you were thinking honeydew or cantaloupe it isn't that kind but more like a deeper exotic melon. This one has got that tropical musky fruit smell, but it also smells like a tanning lotion. Not like coppertone, or coconut oil, but you know those exotic sensual fruity smelling tanners? That kind.

Warm Throw: It also reminds me of those trendy clothing stores that are right on the beach. It smells rich and exotic and kind of like musky fruits. Okay I'm officially crazy with my scent imaginations, but that is what came to mind when I smelt this warmed. I smell like some beachy sunscreen, not the coppertone kind, but the light spray on type. I also get some tropical fruits and a touch of salty sea air. The scent throw on this was medium but a bit on the stronger side. For me this one was okay, but I don't think I will be getting it again anytime soon.

I didn't care for this scent but I know a lot of people will disagree.

I can't wait because I'm starting to melt my fall fragrances and fall and Christmas scents are my absolute fave so be prepared for crazy descriptions and even crazier gifs to go with them lol. Tart Attack!

It's Thanksgiving time again!

        Get out your eating pants everyone! Thanksgiving month is upon us and you know what that means: FOOD, glorious delicious food! And in honor of this food oriented month about 90% of the scent shots in this review are all food related. Sadly no Pecan or Sweet Potatoe Pie in this one because somehow I forgot to add those to my cart when I placed my order and sadly I didn't remember until it was too late. The show must go on however so here is this month's scent review...

This month's bakery scents.

Lemon Vanilla: 
Color: Dandelion Yellow
Cold Throw: This one smells pretty much just like how the description leads you to believe it does. It smells something like lemon frosting. The lemon in this one kind of reminds me of the lemon used in Singapore Sling which is kind of a sweet lemon rather than the cleaner kind. This is a citrusy sweet almost icing like scent. I'm not the biggest fan of lemon scents in general but this one is really nice and sweet without being too sweet. The lemon gives it that nice zest.

Warm Throw:Yep this one still smells like lemon flavored frosting to me. The lemon is still a sweet lemon not the zesty kind. The vanilla adds this frosting quality that is sweet without being too sweet. I think the nice lemon keeps the icing scent from being too rich or overly thick and sweet like some icing scents tend to smell. The scent throw on this one was pretty decent right in average range. I would recommend this one to those of you who are wanting to try lemon scents but aren't really big fans of them. It is a nice starter to broaden your horizons with. I personally am not the biggest fan of most lemon scents but I enjoyed this one and will certainly use up the rest of the shot later.

Mint Tea:
Color: Saddle Brown
Cold Throw: A very nice and relaxing blend. The peppermint and spearmint mix and keep each other from being too sweet or too sharp kind of similar to the blend in Dark Angel only instead of the vanilla to tone the mint down this one has brewed tea to do the job and it does it well. The tea mixes with the mint and keeps it from being to overwhelming. You definitely don't get that harsh clear your sinuses mint smell. This one is just really nice in the way that it isn't too sweet or minty and it smells kind of like a specialty tea. This one is great if you like mint smells but want something a little softer and something that isn't too sweet either.

Warm Throw: Someone over on the CBV Browser described this as smelling like an herbal tea and I have to agree 100% with that assessment. The brewed tea is this one is different from Chai Tea in that the tea leaves are white so they come out a bit more herbally and it mixes with the mint to very well. The mint in this one is actually probably the most subdued mint smell I have tried so far and I've tried most of them. This is not a very sweet scent it is instead just like a nice soothing herbal tea. The scent throw on this one was in the upper medium range. I personally liked this one and found it to be a really relaxing scent but if you don't like the smell of herbal teas then you might want to pass up this one.

Cinnamon Apple Peach: 
Color: Dark Maroon
Cold Throw: Smells pretty true to it's title to be honest. I have let this one cure for a little over 2 months now so I can smell all of the fragrances equally in one sniff. None of them are dominant to the others. The cinnamon in this is that Red Hot kind but it isn't too abrasive because the peach/apple combo tone it down a bit, but it is still noticeable. So far I can already tell this is gonna be a strong scent thrower. I like cinnamon, apple, and peach scents so I thought I was going to love this one but right now I'm up in the air. While it does smell like all of those things I'm just not sure I like the combination of them yet.

Warm Throw: Gotta say this combination was pretty nice once melted. It actually reminded me more of a Christmas time fragrance. The cinnamon while being the Red Hot kind wasn't too sharp or too overpowering because the apple/peach combo sort of double teamed it and toned it down. I smelled all of the scents pretty equally but they come together to make an entirely new scent that smells festive to me. A very interesting scent in my books because that was not what I was expecting. The scent throw was probably a little over average range. If you don't particularly care for cinnamon scents then I would say pass on this one if you don't mind a little bit of cinnamon then give it a shot.

These were all pretty nice scents.

Marshmallow Banana Dream Cake:
Color: Pearl White
Cold Throw: Gotta be honest and say I bought this one just because it seemed like such an odd mixture of scents and I had to know what it would smell like it. Like with most marshmallow scents I do pick up a slight play dough note but this has had 2 months to cure now and the play dough note is kind of faint now and it smells more vanilla/cream like. When I first got this I couldn't smell any banana at all but since it has cured I do get a whiff of banana in there. The Laffy Taffy kind of course since I have yet to find a CBV banana scent that smelt like real actual bananas. I can also smell a light cake fragrance, but it sits in the base notes so you smell more the marshmallow/banana combo at first and get the cake after. So far opinions on this one are mixed since as a whole on cold throw it doesn't smell bad to me but it doesn't smell good to me either. Marshmallow scent tend to smell much better once warmed though. Can't wait to melt it though to see if it all blends together better.

Warm Throw: This one ended up being mainly Victoria's marshmallow scent with just a tiny hint of that Laffy Taffy banana. I didn't really get much "cake" scent to it more like just a kind of creamy marshmallow with an afterthought of banana. The scent throw on this one was pretty moderate though. I would only recommend this if you like CBV's marshmallow scents. If you aren't a big fan of them then hard pass on this one. For me personally I didn't mind the fragrance but it isn't one I will be purchasing again I believe. Not bad, but not great for me either. Then again I am on the fence with most marshmallow scents so if you love marshmallows you will probably love this one too.

Pumpkin shots.

Pumpkin Apple Cinnamon Bread: 
Color: Pumpkin Orange
Cold Throw: I don't know about you guys but I like to save my pumpkin scents for November because they are really warm and comforting and November is usually very cold here. Plus they remind me of pumpkin pie and while I hate to eat pumpkin I do love the smell of it. This scent however smells nothing like pumpkin pie but it still smells fantastico! If you let it cure properly you can smell all of the scents equally. The pumpkin is a nice creamy pumpkin and the apple isn't that super strong Macintosh kind. The cinnamon bread actually smells like cinnamon bread instead of that harsh Red Hot cinnamon stick kind. You even get the sweet bread notes. I've kept this one for maybe 2 and half months now so it is ready and I'm ready to fill my house with it's wonderful fall sweet bakery goodness. If it continues to smell like this warmed it could easily bump Harvest and Pumpkin Cider for my favorite pumpkin scent.

Warm Throw: Probably my new favorite pumpkin scent. As much as I love the others I like that this one has notes from all of my favorite scents; a hint of sweet apples, rich pumpkin bread and a touch of sweet baking cinnamon. All the scents just blend so well and go hand in hand with each other. I want to eat this scent. The only drawback for me on this one is that I wish it was stronger. Usually pumpkin scents end up being super scent throwers but this one because of the baked bread scent I believe is the culprit is just in a medium average scent throw range. It isn't weak but as much as I love the scent I wanted it to be super strong. Still I'm obviously loving this one and I think it is perfect for fall for bakery pumpkin lovers.

Pumpkin Pickin:
Color: Pumpkin Orange
Cold Throw: Here is another in the line of pumpkin scents with spices line. This ones is a bit more on the creamier side than most so the spices which includes that Red Hot cinnamon stick type of cinnamon in it are toned down just a tad bit more than others like Pumpkin Pie Spice or Harvest. The spices are still noticeable though so if you don't like slightly strong spices in your pumpkin scents skip this one and go on down to Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake. If you do like spicey pumpkin scents then this one is right up your alley it is just a little bit more even on the pumpkin to spice ratio than most.

Warm Throw: Like on cold throw it is still a pumpkin spice type of scent only this one has more pumpkin in it than most of the others. I've tried A LOT of Victoria's pumpkin scents and so this one is creamier and has a much better ratio of pumpkin to spice in it than most of them. However if you aren't a pumpkin spice fan then you probably wont care for this one. The scent throw on this one like most pumpkin scents is pretty strong.

Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake:
Color: Pumpkin Orange
Cold Throw: This was one of the newer scent addition added in August. I ordered it the first day it came out and got it rather quickly so this one has had plenty of time to cure since then. I must say it does indeed smell just like how the name portrays it should. I know this is a mix of Sugared Corn Pudding (which I love) and Spiced Pumpkin Chutney (never tried) though it doesn't really smell like spicey or like corn at all. In fact it smells more like warm butter with a slight pumpkin note and then a nice cake base to add some depth. Sugared Corn Pudding to me always reminded me of like a creamy porridge scent with a hint of corn but I don't get any of that in this except for maybe the creaminess and if the slight butter that was in it was intensified 5 times. So if you didn't like SCP or SPC give this one a try instead of basing it off a scent you didn't like because trust me this smells exactly like it's name.

Warm Throw: At first I thought it was just me because all I really smelled with this one was butter cake so later when my mom came down the stairs and asked what I was melting I told her it was Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake and didn't say anything else. Then she said, "I can only smell the butter cake part". So either it is just my crazy family or the pumpkin in this is very faint once warmed. I love pumpkin scents and usually they are strong and super throwers but without smelling the pumpkin in this one the throw is just pretty average and basically smells like a nice butter cake. The butter is sweet and not too strong like some butter scents can be and it mixes with a bakery note that really does smell just like a plain pound cake so all in all I got with this one was butter cake. I would have loved to smell the pumpkin more or even at all, but even though I didn't this was still a pretty good bakery scent for me. Not what I was expecting but I still liked it.

August added scents.

Candy Crush: 
Color: Blush Pink
Cold Throw:This is a mixture of Pink Bubblegum Crush and Vanilla Sugar. You can definitely smell the PBC but the vanilla from the VS tones down that sticky syrupy smell that PBC has. The vanilla actually really rounds out the scent making it more sweet and candy like as opposed to that really thick artificial syrup smell that PBC has. Both scents blend really well together to make an entirely new scent that smells so sweet and girly and good. I liked the original PBC but I LOVE this combination much better. I'd like to have this in something B&B for sure.

Warm Throw: I love this one! I like the two fragrances on their own but together they are so much better. It continues to be a very sweet and girly fragrance. The vanilla does come out a little bit more once warmed but it couples with the candy sweetness of Pink Bubblegum Crush and it just makes it so smooth and so candy good. I like that it is sweet without being sickeningly so and that the signature scent from that company that shall not be named is toned way down. The scent throw on this one is pretty moderate. This is one that I need to purchase in something else. Not sure what I want it in yet but I know this will be a re-order for sure.

Vanilla Cake Pops: 
Color: Pearl White
Cold Throw: This to me smells like a white cake with white icing. The icing smell on this one isn't that super thick or super sweet kind. It is actually nicely balanced with the white cake notes so there isn't a real dominant fragrance. The two just go together hand in hand much like a real cake with a nice decent layer of frosting. Certain frosting notes tend to be overly sweet sometimes in my opinion but so far this isn't one of those. This one has a really nice balance between the two.

Warm Throw: Once again I have to stand by my initial description on this one. A lovely white cake with not too sweet white icing slathered on top. I really am liking the balance of cake to icing ratio on this one because the scents really are equaled enough to where you get both of them at the same time without one of them standing out more than the other. I also really like that I don't get any almond notes in the icing for this one. So very pleased with that. The scent throw on this one is pretty much in the middle zones. Not too strong not too weak but just right. I really like this one it isn't too sweet or heavy it is just a well rounded cake bakery scent.

Should you order these two scents? YES! Yes you should...right now.

Peach Cinnamon Strudel Pie:
Color: Pumpkin Orange
Cold Throw: When the August scents were released this was one of them that I was most excited for because I love peach, cinnamon, and pie scents. Stands to reason I should fall in love with this combo, but right now I am on the fence with this one. It isn't bad at all, but there is something about the combination that my nose is not liking cold. It has had plenty of time to cure so I do get the peach preserves mixed with a faint hint of cinnamon which is a baking kind of cinnamon not the Red Hot kind. I think it is the bakery note that might be throwing my nose off. I can pick out a bakery note in the base of the scent but it isn't crusty or pie like at all. It is more just a bakery depth that I can sniff out. I don't know it could be just me because I can see a lot of other bakery lovers adoring this scent, but personally I don't know what it is about this mixture that just isn't doing it for me. All of the scent though are balanced out pretty well though the peach and bakery scent are a bit stronger than the hint of sweet cinnamon.

Warm Throw: Good news, I'm no longer on the fence with this scent, but bad news I'm on the side that doesn't like it. It isn't a bad scent by any means I can see how a lot of people will love this one but it just isn't for me. The peach is similar to that in Cajun Cornbread and I just don't care for that peach. It is too sickeningly sweet for me. The cinnamon is a sweet baking cinnamon that just kind of sits in the undercurrents and isn't too stand out so good news if you don't like Red Hot cinnamon. There is still a bakery type depth to the scent that rounds it out more. The scent throw on this one was very strong. I think if you like Peach Preserves or Cajun Cornbread you will probably like this one as well but as for me personally I won't be repurchasing it. Going straight into the next Round Robin I'm in.

Two customer create a scents this month.

Banana Fritters: 
Color: Dandelion Yellow
Cold Throw: A combination of Elvis and Cinnamon Donuts. This does indeed smell like how I'd imagine a banana fritter would smell like. You can pick out each scent individually, but at the same time they both meld together to make one completely whole scent. I'd say the Cinnamon Donuts is just a teensy bit stronger than Elvis only because the sweet cinnamon and sugar donut is a bit more easily identifiable, but honestly you do get both the scents in the same sniff. The bakery in this one does help to tone down that Laffy Taffy banana so it does smell a little bit more authentic. I'm really digging this scent combo.

Warm Throw: Smells the same as it does on cold throw to be honest. You still get both the scents in the same whiff but the Cinnamon Donuts does tend to stand out a little bit more. Still really great if you enjoy both of these scents. A truly nice combination and the name lives up to the scent as well. The scent throw on this one is average. I like this one and am thankful to the genius person who decided to mix these two fragrances together. Bakery banana lovers ya need this one.

Sticky Toffeecorn: 
Color: Dandelion Yellow
Cold Throw: So this is Jandre's mixture of Kettle Corn and Caramelized Pralines. Now those who have followed my scent reviews for awhile probably already know that I despise Caramelized Pralines and overall buttery/popcorn scents so those who know that are probably wondering why on earth I would order this one right? Well let's just say I secretly hate myself and love to torture myself at least once on every order. I try to go out of my comfort zone with at least one scent an order and that just so happened to be this one.So let's just try and put my personal scent prejudice aside and let me try and describe this scent for you all.  I do indeed get the popcorn from the Kettle Corn right away and while there is a slight trace of butter it isn't like Buttered Popcorn because there isn't enough butter and it is slightly sweet and a little on the plain popcorn side. Once you sniff around the initial blast of Kettle Corn you can pick out the undeniable scent of Caramelized Pralines. I would say you get the slight somewhat semi-sweet and salty edge of the pralines but it isn't exactly a nutty smell at all. In fact I think the name pretty much describes this scent to a T. It does smell a little bit like toffeecorn only a bit more on the salty side so imagine toffeecorn with nuts sprinkled here and there and that is pretty much what this smells like to me. Well maybe a bit stronger on the popcorn scent than the sweet side of toffeecorn.

Warm Throw: This lived up to it's name. It was butter and popcorny but with a sweet creamy coating. There is a little sharp hint of the Caramelized Pralines on the edges. I liken it to those bags of toffee corn with peanuts mixed in. The scent throw on this one was pretty moderate. Personally I'm not a fan of popcorn or nutty scents at all but I thought this one wasn't bad. Not a favorite for me but I can see a lot of people adoring this sweet and salty mixture.

Basically these two scents are aptly named.

And a few extras to round out the order.

Golden Cadillac:   
Color: Milky White
Cold Throw: One of the Top Shelf Black Label Line, forget the description for this one okay. This one is really just a mixture of different vanillas. There is no spice or berry notes to be found at all in this one on cold throw alone. That all could change once melted, but so far on cold throw it just smells like a nice blend of regular vanilla, french vanilla, and vanilla bean. If I smell a little deeply I guess I can also pick up a tiny tiny hint of caramel mixing and sweetening up this vanilla blend. I know this one is close to cured because it has had almost 2 and a half months to cure. Maybe the other fragrances in the description will come out once warmed, but so far if you were expecting vanilla spice, you just get vanilla, but it is still a nice vanilla.

Warm Throw: The spices and berry notes in this one continued to be MIA once warmed up. I stand by my initial cold throw description in that this one smells pretty much like a bunch of different mixed vanilla fragrances. The more I smell it the more I can try and pick out different vanillas like french vanilla and vanilla bean and regular vanilla as well as a creamy vanilla. They all blend together flawlessly to create just a well rounded vanilla. The scent throw on this one was pretty average right in the middle range. I liked it and thought it was a nice vanilla to have but it wasn't anything swoonworthy for me personally however I am not a huge vanilla lover I can take it or leave it. If you love vanilla scents then you need to try this one for yourself.

Green Tea & Willow: 
Color: Hunter Green
Cold Throw: I got this one because I am a HUGE lover of green tea and I wanted to see how green tea would smell in a scent shot along with something else. Since this is in the spa line it does smell somewhat like a green spa type ozoney scent, but I don't actually get a lot of real green tea in it maybe just a pinch. I do get the softer woody note from the willow though but in the undercurrents I do get a slight airy floral note that can trick you if you aren't looking for it. I smell the watercress and cyclamen in this one but it isn't so noticeable that if you didn't know those were in there you probably would have overlooked it. It is more on the light green and woodsy side of the spa line so if you aren't feeling the fruitier ones then maybe try this one instead.

Warm Throw: The green tea comes out more once this one is warmed up and so does the willow as well. The willow is a soft woody note it isn't too earthy or overpowering like some tree notes can be. The watercress and cyclamen make a pretty accompanying note alongside the tea and willow. It is a very green relaxing and almost clean kind of scent. The scent throw is nice and strong as well definitely in the above average range. I was surprised at how much I liked this scent and my mother who doesn't usually like spa type scents really loved this one.

 Lavender & Basil: 
Color: Violet Purple
Cold Throw: This was my free scent shot and I have to say when I first saw the label in the box I groaned inwardly because I do not care for lavender scents nor basil ones. However my trepidation aside once I opened it to smell it I was completely shocked. This smells nothing like lavender or basil, but instead it smells like a super clean laundry soap. It smells EXACTLY like the original kind that comes in the box rather than the liquid counterparts. Someone on the CBV Browser also described this one as smelling like a generic hand soap as well and I can see that but to me the first thing that came to mind was those boxed laundry soaps. It is very sharp and soapy and very very clean smelling. So fellow lavender or basil haters do no be fooled this is not an earthy or floraly fragrance but rather an intense deep clean one.

Warm Throw: This one was super strong on the scent throw and its just a really clean soapy detergent like scent. It is a bit on the more stringent side of clean but nothing bad it is just a sharper kind of smelling clean scent. This one is sure to make your house smell just like you spent all day deep cleaning it. So if you love the smell of a super clean home you need this one. If you aren't big on clean scents then I would recommend you try some of the less intense ones such as Mango Tango or Clothesline Fresh first before trying this one because it is strong and super duper clean.

These were all nice scents that I enjoyed.

I Put A Smell On You

A special Halloween review.

    Hello my pretties! It is all Hallow's and in honor of my favorite holiday here is a special mini-review of the newest Halloween themed scents available from Candles By Victoria. I only have three scents here for you guys but luckily they are going to still be available all year round so you can enjoy them whenever you like. So let's get started shall we?


I Put A Smell On You: 
Color: Ghastly Grape
Cold Throw: Admit it, when you read the title you sang the song in your head didn't you? I know I did only I sang the original version by Screamin Jay Hawkins instead of the Hocus Pocus version though I do love both of them. Anyways onto the scent description. This scent is a magical concoction of Love Potion No. 9 and Watermelon Cupcake. I definitely can pick out the Love Potion No. 9 but the perfumeyness of it is tempered way down by the Watermelon Cupcake. I smell pretty equal parts of both scents in this actually. I get the sexy vanilla from LPN9 but I also get that sweet candy watermelon from WC. Making this one pretty sweet and girly fragrance.

Warm Throw: I think I would have loved this one a lot more had the scent throw been a bit stronger. You could still smell this one it wasn't on the weak scent throw side still I wish it had more oomph to it to make it at least a moderate throw. I actually had to use half a shot for this one to fill up my living room area but I do have an open living room so it might be better used in smaller or enclosed spaces. Still this one smelt spooktacular! It is a very sweet fragrance though so if you aren't a fan of really sweet scents then this one is not for you. As before the candy watermelon note is what I get the most of followed by the nice girly vanilla from Love Potion No. 9 and then in the very background I get some of the cupcake base that gives it some depth. Overall I really enjoy this one just wish it was stronger on scent throw. I think this one would also be great in bath and body I think it would shine as a lotion or a body spray.

I loved it but wish it was more, strong...strong..strong...STTRROONNGG!!

Cider Web: 
Color: Zombie Skin Green
Cold Throw: A spellbinding mixture of Mulled Cider and Sugared Corn Pudding. Honestly I don't get the Sugared Corn Pudding at all. This smells like a legit apple cider donut. There is an obvious mulled warm cider scent but it is coupled right alongside a nice bakery type scent that smells somewhat like a plain soft donut does. In fact if I hadn't known what this was a blend of I would have guessed it was Apple Cider and maybe Cinnamon Donuts only without the cinnamon.

Warm Throw: Smells like legit cider donuts! I don't get so much apple cider more as just mulled cider like in the description, but the Sugared Corn Pudding doesn't even smell like it, it smells like plain soft donuts. So thus cider donuts! I really enjoyed this one and found it was a nice unique scent for the fall season I can see myself melting it later into November as well. The throw on this one was pretty moderate and was nice and steady. I recommend this one if you like bakery and cider scents if not then pass on this one because it is pure cider donuts.

Sleepy Hollow: 
Color: Jack-O-Lantern Orange
Cold Throw: Fall/earthy/woodsy lovers prepare to lose your heads. This is a customer create a scent made by Jandre and it is a blend of Why I Autumn and Crackling Birch. It is a very earthy fall type scent. I get the dried leaves from Why I Autumn and the slight smokey tree like/woodsyness from Cracklin Birch. It smells earthy to me but at the same time this also reminds me of like an earthy smokey men's cologne. Overall this is a very woodsy, earthy, and slightly musky fragrance.

Warm Throw: This little guy smells just like a smokey woodsy men's cologne and let me tell you this bad boy is strong! I get more of the Crackling Birch than the Why I Autumn but Why I Autumn is still smellable there in the undercurrents. This one smells like dried leaves and strong smokey wood notes and they both combine to make an outdoorsy fall men's cologne. I personally was not a fan of this one just because I don't like super woodsy or earthy scents and I also don't particularly care for most men's colognes unless they are on an actual man. So I would only recommend this one to those who love strong woody scents or outdoorsy type men's cologne.

This scent was so strong it almost murdered my senses!

My birthday month & CBV?! Best month ever!!

     What's up all my CBV lovers? It has been awhile, but as always I am back with my monthly Candles By Victoria scent review. Since we are in the beginning of fall most of the scents I melted were what I considered "almost fall scents, but not quite". Basically I melted a lot of apple and bakery scents, but there are other categories in there too. So without further ado...

Only some of this month's bakery type scents.

Harvey Wallbanger:
Color: Pearl White
Cold Throw: One of the Top Shelf Black Label Line, this one smells very sweet almost like candy but not quite. I pick up on very rich vanilla with maybe a touch of maple in there, but maple haters don't let that scare you off because I am not a fan of maple, but the maple in this blends with the vanilla to just make a sweet scent without coming off syrupy. The description lists a few spices in this one, but on cold throw I don't smell any of them. This smells like a creamy rich complex vanilla scent that is almost candy sweet.

Warm Throw: It was a bit sweeter on cold throw than warm throw. On cold throw it kind of had an almost candy sweetness however that changes once warmed. While it is still certainly a sweet scent is kind of reminds me almost more like syrup. Not maple syrup! More like a syrupy kind of sweetness. This is one complicated scent to try and describe in words. To me this is kind of like Caro syrup and vanilla. The scent throw on this one was pretty moderate. I liked this one a bit better on cold throw than warm throw. While I still like this scent I liked it much better cold.

Cinnamon Buns:
Color: Saddle Brown
Cold Throw: I got this one so I could compare it to Cinnabon and Cinnamon Donuts. This one is leaning more on the side of Cinnamon Donuts only this one is strong Red Hot cinnamon. I have let it cure for 2 months now and Red Hot cinnamon continues to be the main fragrance, however this has a hint of a fried bakery note in the undercurrents though it is hard to be sure because the Red Hot cinnamon is so strong. I debated whether or not to burn this one or put it away and let cure longer, but I'm hoping it transforms more once melted.

Warm Throw:The fried bakery note did come out more once melted, however the cinnamon Red Hots fragrance continued to stay right alongside it. Out of Cinnabon and Cinnamon Donuts this one has the strongest and spiciest cinnamon in it so it was the more dominant fragrance however like I said before the fried bakery note was right there in the undercurrents the whole time. Like with most cinnamon scents this one was a strong scent thrower. Certainly in the above average range. Because I let this one cure for 2 months I can smell the fried note is stronger than it would have been had I not let it cure so long. So if you smell just cinnamon Red Hots on cold throw, put it away until you get that little whiff of a fried note then melt it. I personally don't have any problems with strong sharp cinnamon so I liked this one a lot however if you are sensitive to the Red Hot kind of cinnamon then this one will probably not be for you.

Personally I really liked Cinnamon Buns!

Sugared Shortbread:
Color: Pearl White
Cold Throw: One of Vic's newer scents this year, this one smells like it's namesake for the most part. It has that shortbread scent which is kind of semi-sweet and slightly cookie-ish. Then there is this almost lightly burnt sugar scent on top (not the nasty burnt sugar smell, but more like a crisp sugar) This one to me smells like sugar cookies though I have not had Victoria's Sugar Cookie scent that is what this one comes off as. Like a lightly sweetened crisp sugar cookie.

Warm Throw: Pretty much stayed the same as it did on cold throw. This one smells like a crisp and slightly less sweet sugar cookie. I didn't mind this one however I think I would prefer actual Sugar Cookie to this one just because I would like it to be a touch sweeter than it is. Still if you don't like overly sweet scents, but still have a craving for some sweet baked goodie fragrance then look no further this one is for you. It is a pretty simple, but pleasant scent. The scent throw on this one was decently average.

Caramel Macciato:
Color: Rustic Orange/Brown
Cold Throw: One of the newer coffee scents to be added to the line. I will be honest and say I have never had an actual caramel macciato before so I have no idea what they are supposed to really smell like. That being said I would guess they smell like this only maybe with a bit more coffee. This one is mainly a mixture of warm thick caramel with vanilla and then a little bit of coffee in the background. It is really rich and heavy on the caramel. While I typically don't mind caramel fragrances that much this one is a bit too rich for me personally, however caramel lovers would go nuts for this one.

Warm Throw: While I liked this one a bit better once warmed it still wasn't for my nose. This one was very sweet rich caramel and cream with very little coffee. If you love super sweet scents or even just are a huge caramel lover then this one is for you. I personally am not big on caramel scents so this one was just okay for me. I probably wont re-purchase just because of personal preference. However the scent throw on this one was pretty nice.

Too much caramel not enough coffee.



Bakery apple scents...

Baked Apple Strudel:
Color: Dark Chestnut Brown
Cold Throw: I just want to start off by saying I LOVE apple scents, however some of Victoria's cinnamon apple scents in the bakery category (like Spiced Apple Pie & Apple Pie Ala Mode) just didn't do it for me. They smelt like medicine to me for some reason. So I'm kind of choicey on the bakery apple scents. Having said that I love this scent! To me this is a true baked apple fragrance. Truthfully on cold throw alone I don't smell any hints of the "strudel" part, but I do smell lots of yummy baked apples. The apples smell like freshly glazed and baked apples drizzled with baking cinnamon not that strong Red Hot kind. This is what I wanted her apple pie scents to smell like.

Warm Throw: There were still no "strudel" bits or even any bakery notes in this one, but I still loved it because it smells like true baked apples glazed in light sweet baking cinnamon. This is a great fall apple scent. I am so glad I didn't give up on the bakery apple scents! The scent throw on this one was pretty moderate. It is a pretty simple scent, but I adore it. If you were disappointed by Spiced Apple Pie or Apple Pie Ala Mode like I was then I recommend giving this little guy a try. I certainly was not disappointed.

Apple Cinnamon Butter:
Color: Dark Chestnut Brown
Cold Throw: I did not like this one when I first smelt it, but now it has had 2 months to cure and smells a lot better than it initially did. So let it cure if you decide to try this one. Now it smells like that spiced baked apple smell like in Baked Apple Strudel only there are a few extra scents added in that change the fragrance into something like apple cinnnamon butter, but not quite. This one isn't overly buttery which is good for me because I don't care for butter scents though you can still tell that butter has been added into the baked apple cinnamon smell. I think there must be some kind of cream or something along those lines that anchors down this scent and subdues the sweetness. It is a complex fragrance, but for the most part it does smell like apple cinnamon butter (not the same as real apple butter though).

Warm Throw: Smells the same as it did on cold throw. I was worried the butter would rear it's head and make me not like this one so much, but thankfully for me it did not. The cinnamon was very toned down and this mainly smelt like baked apples with cream and touch of butter. It was very nice and did live up to it's name in my opinion. The scent throw was decently average. After reading varrying reviews online of this one I was prepared not to like it, but I actually enjoy this one. I think if you were hoping for more butter in this fragrance you may be a little disappointed because it isn't that buttery. Also as I said before you need to let this one cure for awhile. At first I hated the scent because it smelt funky but put it away and it should smell much better.

Dutch Apple Crunch:
Color: Dark Chestnut Brown
Cold Throw: At first this is just a Red Hot cinnamon type of fragrance and I will say this one takes a long time to cure. I let this one cure for 2 months and now the Red Hot cinnamon has toned down a lot and kind of sits in the backgroud now. The only other thing I get is an apple pie scent, though just the baked and spiced apples and not the crust part of apple pie. So this one smells sort of like a heavier spiced apple pie with a hint of butter and Red Hot cinnamon.

Warm Throw: This one is much richer once it is melted. The apple is still a baked apple like the kind found in apple pies and the butter comes out more and makes the overall fragrance a bit more thicker, warmer, and more bakeryish. The Red Hot cinnamon I didn't find to be too sharp or overwhelming, then again I am a cinnamon fan. I thought all the scents blended well to create a very rich warm bakery apple fragrance. The scent throw was decently average on this one.

Who likes the apple scents?

I went crazy for raspberry scents this month...

Raspberry Coconut Muffin:
Color: Dark Raspberry
Cold Throw: Smells like how you would think it should. The first thing I smell is sharp coconut shavings and then I get the sweetness from the raspberries, but the fruity scents are anchored down by something. I don't exactly get a muffin or bakery background in this, but there is something that is secretly subduing the fruity scents and keeping them from being too fruity.

Warm Throw: The sweet coconut shavings are honestly the most dominant fragrance with this one. You can still smell the raspberries there in the undertones but really the coconut is the most noticeable scent. It isn't bad at all or overly strong just I was expecting a bit more raspberry and muffin. It should be named Coconut Raspberry Muffin rather than the other way around. Still this one is nice if you love coconut types of fragrances. However if you were expecting this one to be more raspberry bakery with just a dash of coconut I'm afraid you are sadly mistaken. The scent throw on this one was a tad bit over average. I liked it personally, but I don't mind coconut fragrances. So I'd only purchase this one if you are a fan of coconut.

Raspberry Peach Cobbler
Color: Dark Raspberry
Cold Throw: Smells exactly like it's name implies. I can smell all of the scents equally without one overpowering the other. The raspberry blends with the peach to keep the peach from being too strong and too sweet like a few peach scents tend to do. Then the bakery crusty note sits in the bottom notes to keep the raspberry and peach from being too fruity and straying out of the bakery category.

Warm Throw: I have tried Apple Cobbler and Blueberry Cobbler and so far this one has the most "cobbler" in it. The crust like note comes out more in this one then the other two cobbler scents I tried which were mainly the fruity part. This one however has equal parts raspberry and peach as well as that baked crust smell. This one is probably truest to a real cobbler scent though I personally prefer the other two but that is because I'm bigger on apples and blueberries than the raspberry peach combo. Still this one smells exactly like how you would expect it to and is a yummy fruity bakery fragrance. The scent throw on this one was pretty average.

Razzmatazz Hazelnut Coffee:
Color: Dark Raspberry 
Cold Throw: Another one of the newer scents to be released this year. The first thing I pick up on is the raspberries and blackberries though it is mainly raspberries, but there is an undercurrent of hazelnuts that directly follows the raspberry scent and keeps it from being too sweet. Then there is the faintest hint of Victoria's coffee fragrance in the very bottom to add a bit of depth.

Warm Throw: I was a little unsure at first on whether or not I'd like this scent. Honestly I'm not a big fan of nutty/salty type of fragrances. Fortunately for me this one is actually on the sweet side. The sweet berry blend is the main scent, but the coffee undercurrent gives it a little bit of depth while the slight hint of hazelnuts rounds the fragrance out and gives it a nice twist. The scent throw was a little bit more than moderate. It filled up the room nicely and noticeably. I actually ended up liking this one quite a bit. This one will probably be a repurchase as soon as I use up the rest of the shot I have. Two thumbs up from me on this one!

These raspberry scents were all winners!

Vanilla Cream Raspberry:
Color: Dark Raspberry
Cold Throw: This one is just a pretty simple blend of vanilla and raspberries though the vanilla is pretty rich so it takes away a lot of the fruitiness of the raspberries. This one is more heavy creamy vanilla than raspberries but you do get both of the scents.

Warm Throw: This one was a lot better once warmed up. The juicyness of the raspberries came more into play and they complimented the smooth creamy vanilla nicely. The two fragrances balanced out evenly after a little bit on the burner. This one is a pretty simple, but still pleasant blend. The scent throw on this one was pretty much just average. I liked this one better warm, but this was just okay to me. I didn't not like the scent, but there are so much more that I like better and so I more than likely will not be repurchasing this one.

Raspberry Tomato Leaf:
Color: Plum Purple
Cold Throw: Apparently this was an older scent that got discontinued for a long time and has just now come back. I was so intrigued by this because it is such an odd mixture of scents. I was expecting maybe something a bit more fruitier, but this is in the Earthy category for a reason. This one does have sweetness thanks to the raspberries, but there is this green leafy tomato plant fragrance that add this eathiness to the sweetness. It oddly enough kind of reminds me of basil. Sadly for me I do not like leafy/earthy/herby scents so this one is just not for me on cold throw, but I can see others marveling at the sweet and plant-like mixture.

Warm Throw: Based on the cold throw I felt like I was going to hate this one, but something magical happened once it was warmed up. That basil smell I got on cold throw went away and the raspberries came out WAY more. It coupled with the tomato leaf which at first smelt really green, but when warm smells nice and dare I say somewhat clean? I may be crazy but this kind of reminds me of a fabric softener I had a long long time ago. It doesn't so much smell like laundry or something like that but it isn't really earthy or fruity smelling either. This scent is so hard to describe because I feel when people read the words "tomato leaf" they instantly think earthy and this wasn't like that so much. This is just one you have to try to make your own judgements on. I can see why they brought this one back because it does smell pretty good and the scent throw on this one is great as well. So don't be afraid of the cold throw like I was melt it first before you make your judgements.

Miscellaneous scents...

Soft Blanket:
Color: Pearl White
Cold Throw: This scent is special to me because it reminds me of my great grandmother. (It does not in any way smell like an old lady though!! My gran always smelt great lol) So this description could be a little bias, but to me this is a very comforting scent just like it's name implies. I definitely get the warm amber that blends in with soft vanilla. I don't get any citrus at all in this so citrus haters don't write this one off because of the description. The amber vanilla combination may come off as a tad perfume like, but it isn't a strong perfume fragrance. This just evokes memories of my loving gran and how comforting and strong she was so to me this is just an amazing scent. For everyone else I think the name is appropriate because this is a soft and relaxing fragrance.

Warm Throw: The citrus was completely non-existent in this scent which is great for me because I love it just the way it is on cold and how it smells on cold is how it smells warm. The amber and vanilla mix really well together to create a very soothing yet warm scent. It isn't too sweet or perfumey it is just perfect! (Well I did say earlier this review might be a little bias lol) The scent throw on this one is in medium range. If you are looking for something different that isn't bakery or fruity or too stringently clean then give this fragrance a shot.

Citrusmoon:
Color: Burnt Orange
Cold Throw: This is not your tyical citrus type of scent. The top notes of this one are mainly a light fresh citrus that leans more towards the orangey category, but underneath that there is this complex light sweet floral smell that I want to say is probably the Ylang Ylang, because it doesn't smell like jasmine or rose petals. Trust me I hate both of those last two florals and I can pick those two out anywhere. I think I also pick up some of the vetiver that sort of rides on the edges of the scent and gives it a little sharpness to take away from all the sweetness. This is a very interesting citrus scent that I haven't smelled anywhere else.

Warm Throw: It was the same on warm throw as it was on cold throw with just a slight bit more of the soft florals blending in with the light citrusy orange. This one is a lovely and unique blend of fragrances. Just enough floral and just enough fruity to keep it from leaning one way or the other and the scents are all light and airy enough to where it isn't cloying or overly sweet. The scent throw was pretty average though because it is a light bright scent some might prefer to use more of the scent then usual.

Autumn Apple:
Color: Burnt Orange 
Cold Throw: This is sure to be a fall time favorite for a lot of people. It has top notes of apples that are slightly spiced, but not too cinnamon-y sitting on top of a crisp dried leaves base with a touch of bergamot for a darker kick. This one is really nice and perfect for fall. Under The Harvest Moon is still my favorite fall scent, but this is a close second. It has the dried leaves from UTHM, but with apple touch to add more sweetness.

Warm Throw: I love this one for fall. It smells pretty much the  same warmed as it does cold only you get more of that wonderful slightly spiced apple cider fragrance mixed with that crisp dried leaves smell. It smells like how I want my fall scents to smell. It isn't overly sweet or earthy it is sits perfectly in that delicate balance in between. The scent throw on this one was decently average. Gotta say I am really excited to melt this when it gets a little more colder. October why are you not here yet?

These were all amazing scents.

Sweet Talk:
Color: Dark Maroon 
Cold Throw: You can tell instantly that this is a Victoria's Secret perfume dupe. It has that slightly fruity perfumey blend that is a signature for that company's scents. This one is more berry like than peachy in fact I don't get much peach at all. It smells like a berry perfume. It is a very feminine type of scent. I think I would like this one more in Bath & Body than I do as a household scent. It is a bit to perfumey for me personally to melt in my house. Not that it is a bad scent I just don't care for my home to smell like perfume.

Warm Throw: What you would expect from a Victoria's Secret perfume dupe. It is fruity and perfumey without being too stringent on the perfume part. This one is still more berry smelling then peachy. The peach was barely noticeable so it was more like a berry Vic's Secret perfume. The scent throw on this one was pretty average. This one was nice, however I'm just not into the perfumey category. I think they do better in bath & body than in wax. I don't necessarily want my house to smell like women's perfume unless it is my bedroom.
